The Bagua (八卦 8 trigrams, Hakke in Japanese) theory was developed separately from the Five Elements Theory but was later combined with the Five Elements Theory in traditional Chinese philosophy. Similar to the Five Elements Theory, it originally represented the transition of things from heaven to earth, using eight symbols. It is still used today in Feng Shui and other fields of divination.

Bagua is also used to show directions. Master Murai uses this version of the chart in his writings.
